National and International Mobility

We work to promote student exchanges with domestic and international universities through various mobility programs. In doing so, we integrate the international dimension—academic, professional, and social—into the undergraduate study experience, offering our students a unique opportunity.

The Sant Joan de Déu Teaching Campus is affiliated with the Erasmus+ Studies international university mobility program and the SICUE national mobility program, and also has specific agreements for carrying out internships. Currently, the Campus has bilateral international agreements in the following countries:

  • Høgskolen på Vestlandet – Campus Haugesund (Norway)
  • University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy)
  • University of Bologna (Italy)
  • Porto Higher School of Nursing (Portugal)
  • National University of Ireland (Ireland)
  • University of Santiago de Compostela (Lugo Campus)
  • University of Seville – Saint John of God University School of Nursing
  • University of Salamanca – Ávila University School of Nursing
  • University of Oviedo (Gijón Campus)
  • University of La Laguna – La Candelaria School of Nursing
  • University of Granada (Granada Campus and Ceuta Campus)
  • University of Cádiz – Salus Infirmorum University School

Through the System for Exchange between Spanish University Centers (SICUE), you can include your studies at the Campus with guarantees of academic recognition and credit. Exchanges can be for a semester or an academic year, depending on the agreements signed between universities. You need to contact your home university to find out the steps to submit your application.

By choosing an exchange program at Campus Docent Sant Joan de Déu, you will have the opportunity to connect with students from diverse backgrounds around the world.

We prioritize your needs through the dedicated support of the International Relations Office; our objective is to facilitate your integration into the local student community as quickly as possible. We organize personalized welcome sessions at the start of both the first and second semesters to help you navigate the university’s structure and available services. These sessions will provide opportunities to meet other international students and connect with a mentor who will support you during your time on campus and throughout your stay at our university.

In addition to Spanish, Catalan is the primary language spoken on campus and throughout Catalonia. It is widely used across the region, so we encourage you to enroll in the complimentary Catalan language courses offered to all exchange students. You can enhance your experience with us by participating in the various activities organized by the University and by our Solidarity Team throughout the academic year.

The purpose of the Sant Joan de Déu Health Campus is the comprehensive, professional, humane, and ethical training of those people who feel vocationally inclined and have the skills to attend to, heal, and serve the individual and the community, whether in a situation of health or illness. We are inspired by the spirit and work of St. John of God and the philosophy that emerges from his criteria, from which we specify the following points:

  • We want to be faithful to the person who suffers, doing everything that can contribute to their healing and integral well-being.
  • We want to defend the patient's rights and provide care tailored to the individual, offering competent services that meet technical requirements while striving to humanize them as much as possible.
  • We act with the utmost respect for the convictions and beliefs of the sick, and we help them discover the meaning of their life in the face of illness.
  • Aware of our limitations, we partner with other people, professionals or volunteers, in the realization of our mission, to whom we try to make participants in our philosophy and our spirit in care.

The Sant Joan de Déu Teaching Campus (CDSJD) is a center affiliated with the University of Barcelona (UB) that offers a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Thus, part of your procedures will be carried out through the UB’s International Mobility Office and others will be carried out directly with the Mobility Coordination of the Docent SJD Campus.

To gain acceptance as a temporary visiting student at the Campus, it is essential for your University to provide a nomination on your behalf. If your university does not have an agreement with our Campus, please contact us at campus.mobilitat@sjd.edu.es

Students in the Bachelor of Nursing program at the Sant Joan de Déu Campus can participate in mobility exchanges both nationally (SICUE) and internationally (Erasmus+ Studies).

SICUE (Spanish Inter-University Exchange System) is a mobility program for students between Spanish universities. Through this system, undergraduate students at Spanish universities can spend part of their studies at another Spanish university, with guarantees of academic recognition and credit, as well as suitability for their academic profile.

This exchange program takes into account the educational value of the exchange by allowing the student to experience different teaching systems, including the internship program, as well as the various social and cultural aspects of other autonomous communities and autonomous cities.

When the SICUE call for the corresponding academic year is published, students are informed of the date, time, and location of the informational session for this program, as well as the location of its virtual consultation space on the SJD Teaching Campus Moodle.

The Erasmus+ Program facilitates students enrolled in European universities in completing their academic stay at another university and the subsequent recognition of the studies completed abroad.

Erasmus+ Study Abroad periods can only be carried out at institutions in Member States and Program-Associated Countries, or in Third Countries not associated with the program, provided there is a valid Erasmus agreement with the destination institution. The duration of this mobility will be at least 2 months and up to a maximum of 12 months.

Each academic year, a call for applications for the Erasmus+ Studies programs is opened for students of the Sant Joan de Déu Teaching Campus. Based on the places agreed upon in the agreements, the offer of mobility places is prepared. Thus, when the offer for the corresponding academic year is published, students are informed of the date, time, and location of the information session for this program, as well as the location of its virtual consultation space on the SJD Teaching Campus Moodle.
