Presentation
The ETC (European Trauma Course) is an innovative two-and-a-half-day life-support course designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals involved in the acute care of patients with severe trauma. It is a joint program of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), the European Society of Anesthesiology (ESA), the European Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES), and the European Society of Emergency Medicine (EuSEM).
The course offers cutting-edge training in the management of patients with multiple injuries, with a special emphasis on teamwork and non-technical skills. It is a highly practical training program in which participants spend 85% of their time in scenario-based workshops.
The scenarios simulate routine admissions for severe trauma in an intensive care setting. A maximum of twenty-four participants, organized into teams of four (physicians from various specialties and nursing staff), tackle approximately thirty clinical scenarios at a trauma center.
Acquire skills in the management of patients with multiple trauma.
