NURSING DEGREE COMPETENCES

General competences:

  1. Ethical committment (critical and autocritical capacity / abbility to show coherent attitudes with ethical and deonthological conceptions). Capacity to maintain the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of the people. Exerts according to the deonthological codes and codes of conduct of the profession. Exerts in a way that rspects dignity, culture, values, beliefs and rights of the individual and groups. Defends the rights of the individual / groups within the health system.
  2. Learning capacity and responsibility (capacity for analysis, synthesis, global visions and application of knowledge to practice/ ability to make decisions and adapt to new situations). Relevant knowledge and ability to apply basic and life sciences. Effectively and efficiently coordinate, utilize and manage material and human resources. To encourage, manage and evaluate the introduction of innovations and changes in nursing practice and in the organization of care. Integrate policies and organizational guidelines and professional standards into practice.
  3. Teamwork (capacity to collaborate with others and to contribute to a common project / capacity to collaborate in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams). Capacity to work and communicate in collaboration and effectively with all the individualnel from the team to efficiently priorize and manage time. Capacity to lead and coordinate a team properly delegating tasks.
  4. Creative and entrepreneurial ability (ability to formulate, design and manage projects / able to seek and integrate new knowledge and attitudes). Identifies the importance of research for the achievement of individual and group health objectives. Uses the best available scientific evidence, nursing experience and respect for the values and beliefs of the individual and group, when providing and evaluating nursing care. Supports and contributes to research in nursing and health care in general. Takes part in quality improvement activities. Actively contributes to continuous professional development to improve nursing practice. Contributes to the professional development of other members of the health team.
  5. Sostenibilidad (capacidad de valorar el impacto social y medioambiental de actuaciones en su ámbito / capacidad de manifestar visiones integradas y sistemáticas). Coordina, utiliza y gestiona de forma eficaz y eficiente los recursos materiales y humanos. Fomenta, gestiona y evalúa la introducción de innovaciones y cambios en la práctica enfermera y en la organización de los cuidados. Integra en la práctica las políticas y las pautas organizativas y los estándares profesionales. Valora el riesgo y promociona activamente el bienestar y seguridad de todas las individualas del entorno de trabajo.
  6. Sostenibility (capacity to assess the social and environmental impact of actions in their field / capacity to manifest integrate and systematic visions). Effectively and efficiently coordinates, utilizes and manages material and human resources. Fosters, manages and evaluates the introduction of innovations and changes in the nursing practice and in the organisation of care. Integrates within the practice politics, organisational patterns and professional standards. Valorates risk and actively promotes well-being and security of all the people in the working environment.
  7. Communicative capacity (capacity to understand orally and in writing Catalan, Castillian and a third language, dominating specialised language / capacity to search, use and integrate information). Properly establishes, develops, maintains and finishes  the therapeutic relation. Effectively communicates with the individual and the group to facilitate caregiving. Utilizes appropriate strategies to promote self-steem, dignity and comfort of the individual and the group. Favors and supports the individual and group in the process of choicemaking.
